Five Long Stemmed Roses from Valentine's Day of 2006 remain vivid and fresh forever on the canvass in a still life composed of a book about Jean Miro and an open book about Henry Matisse's series of extremely color brilliant art works entitled: "Harmony Jaune" = two of Taney's biggest influences currently, including Pablo Picasso and his studio works.

The painting is done with the identically same palette and same piece of yellow satin as Matisse used repeatedly as Taney realized recently - purely coincidental. The French LaMouge cup and saucer in foreground has a little gold painting on the cup of a man kneeling and proposing marriage to a woman.

The palette is the same in the little painting. The best, most high quality Dutch color brilliant oil colors are used in this painting, all enhances the freshness of the five long stemmed roses. The green leafs reflect onto the page to the left of the open book. It is a demonstration piece for the new Rockport gallery.
